CAPTUR VEHICLE · PILOT CONCEPT

Your car.
Right this way.

A map for the walk back. An arrow when you’re nearby. Your parking details, all in one place.

Preview a simpler way to find your vehicle, with direction and distance on compatible hardware.

In development. Device, phone compatibility and indoor performance still need testing.

LESS TO THINK ABOUT

Park. Find. Carry on.

The proposed app keeps the everyday actions close, with a separate recovery workflow when needed.

  1. 01

    Park and remember

Save the available parking position when the trip ends. Add a floor, row or bay photo.

  2. 02

    Tap Find my car

Walk to the saved pin, then use nearby direction and distance where your phone and tracker support them.

  3. 03

    Get help if it’s missing

Check the latest available report and prepare a recovery case for the appropriate responders.

CLEAR GUIDANCE, WITH CONTEXT

The right detail.
At the right moment.

Can it tell me which floor I’m on?

GPS alone cannot reliably identify a parking floor. The preview combines a saved parking floor with a selected current floor. Automatic floor guidance would need a validated indoor positioning system or a shared floor reference. Otherwise the app would say “Floor not confirmed”.

Will I always see an arrow?

An arrow needs a reliable direction reading as well as distance. Compatible UWB or other validated nearby hardware could support this. Ordinary Bluetooth signal strength cannot provide that arrow, and Bluetooth Channel Sounding alone measures distance. When direction is unavailable, the app would show distance or the saved position instead.

Is “40 m” the walking route?

The nearby view shows a direct distance and bearing. A walking route is a separate map view. Turn-by-turn guidance inside a car park would also need suitable indoor maps and positioning.

What if the vehicle has moved?

A saved parking pin shows where a position was recorded. Fresh vehicle reports would require a powered tracker, cellular coverage and a connectivity plan. The app would show the source and time of each available report.

Could it be included with car insurance?

We’re interested in insurer-funded pilots and annual vehicle memberships. Any insurance cover would need a licensed insurance partner and separate policy terms. No insurer partnership, premium discount or tracker approval is currently claimed.

WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MISSING

A clear next step.

The proposed recovery case would bring together vehicle details, available location reports and their timestamps for controlled sharing.

Prepare a recovery case

  • Vehicle details
  • Last report and timestamp
  • Controlled case sharing

Concept only. Direct police APIs would require a formal agreement and integration.

Captur does not currently provide live tracking, a police dispatch service or guaranteed recovery. Report a suspected theft through the appropriate police process and leave recovery to authorised responders.

FOR HARDWARE AND CONNECTIVITY PARTNERS

Make the finder work
in the real world.

We’re selecting a device manufacturer and managed IoT connectivity provider for the first Captur Vehicle pilot.

Device manufacturing

Vehicle power and backup battery, GNSS, cellular connectivity, an embedded eSIM option and a validated path to nearby finding.

Managed connectivity

Provisioned SIMs or eSIMs, supported roaming, activation and usage APIs, and a data plan matched to the reporting schedule.
